Embracing the magic of birth

Hello & Welcome!

Welcome to Wildflower doulas, co-partnering doulas, Lauren and Kate, and we are so happy you are here! We are long time friends, who are raising our kids together, and are passionate about helping other moms to feel empowered in pregnancy and into motherhood. Being a doula is a combination of all of our favorite things: education (teaching & learning), babies, serving others & coffee. Okay, so coffee has nothing to do with birth, but we do love to meet clients for coffee to get to know one another. You and your doula should vibe-this is why we offer a complimentary consultation (video call, phone call or in-person coffee chat). We want YOU to feel completely confident that we would make a great team in & out of the delivery room.

A doula is a professional labor assistant who provides (non-medical) physical, informational and emotional support to you and your partner during pregnancy, labor and the early postpartum period.

Every birth deserves support! Choosing the right doula is an important step in completing your support team. Evidence shows that a doula’s presence decreases the need for interventions and increases the chances of an overall positive birthing experience. We support families wherever they choose to birth, home, hospital or birthing center. We support medicated, unmedicated & cesarean births. Wherever and however, you choose to give birth-we are there!

A little more about Lauren…

Before becoming a birth doula, I taught first grade for 9 years. I’ve always enjoyed education, working with families and children. After having my 3 babies I learned how amazing pregnancy and birth are!

As a mom of three, I experienced three different births that ultimately led me towards becoming a doula myself. All three of my birth experiences were beautiful but with my third I wanted to take control of my birth story.

I had my son at a birth center (after two previous births at hospital with an epidural) with doula support and learned quickly what a valuable role a doula plays on your birth team. My personal birth stories taught me that you can't control everything that happens in pregnancy and labor, but you can have a profoundly positive experience if you feel seen, heard, educated and empowered. Something I am dedicated to providing all the families I support.

Are you looking for calming breathing and positioning techniques? I’ve got the tools for you! Have you had a traumatic birthing experience & are looking for support, advocacy and empowerment? I will be there for you!

A little more about Kate…

I have always had a heart for working with others, before getting into birth work, I taught high school family and consumer sciences for 10 years. (One of the many reasons why Lauren and I work so well together is because of all of our similarities!) After having my 3rd baby, I decided to step away from teaching and be home full time, and now I get the amazing privilege of homeschooling my kids and working with other families through being a doula. The best of both worlds.

Being a mom was always something that I aspired to be, and when I got pregnant with my son, after struggling with infertility, I was so grateful and excited. My delivery ended up being really difficult, and as a result I struggled with severe postpartum anxiety, during this time I felt very lonely and realized how amazing AND difficult it is to be a parent. This experience truly inspired me to want to be able to help other moms navigate the transition into motherhood. Along with being a birthing doula, I also have a strong passion for postpartum care, I believe that starting out with a strong support system in early motherhood truly sets you up for success in your motherhood journey.

My goal as a doula is to be able to walk by your side provide support and comfort, and help you advocate for what you are wanting out of your delivery. Whatever your dream birth looks like I would be honored to be a part of it.

Client Review’s

“Lauren was such a rock for my wife during the two days she was in labor. Her calming energy and support was EVERYTHING that we both needed. I am truly grateful she was a part of our birth experience.”

-Derek S.

Lauren was an incredible doula for my first birth! I really wanted doula support to help me have a positive birth experience and was so relieved to have her as a part of my team after our initial consult. Lauren provided resources, went over my preferences, and explained her services. She was ready to go when my labor began and progressed quickly and jumped right in with her support tools. She was extremely helpful to my husband and mom throughout the labor as well, helping everyone engage in supporting me. She encouraged me with positive affirmations and provided compassionate follow-up after my baby arrived. Lauren is knowledgeable about birth and brings a calm, reassuring presence. I'm grateful for her service!
